Position: Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician
Job Summary:
The Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician will play a crucial role in the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of electric vehicles. This position requires a high level of expertise and knowledge in electric vehicle systems, components, and software. The EV Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and optimal performance of electric vehicles, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting the adoption of sustainable transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform accurate diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on electric vehicles, including but not limited to battery systems, electric motors, power electronics, charging systems, and associated components.
2. Conduct routine maintenance tasks on electric vehicles, such as inspecting, cleaning, and lubricating components, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure long-term reliability.
3. Utilize specialized diagnostic equipment, software, and tools to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues promptly and efficiently.
4. Collaborate with other technicians and departments to effectively manage workload, coordinate repairs, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
5. Stay up to date with the latest technology advancements, manufacturer guidelines, and industry trends related to electric vehicle systems, and incorporate this knowledge into daily work processes.
6. Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used, adhering to established protocols and documentation requirements.
7. Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
8. Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations of repairs, recommendations, and estimated costs, while ensuring exceptional customer service.
9. Assist in the training and mentoring of junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their professional development.
10. Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance the overall performance of the electric vehicle workshop.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent education required; completion of a recognized automotive technician program is strongly preferred.
2. Proven experience as an electric vehicle technician or in a similar role, with in-depth knowledge of electric vehicle systems, components, and software.
3. Strong diagnostic skills and ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in electric vehicles.
4. Proficient in using specialized diagnostic tools, equipment, and software specific to electric vehicle systems.
5. Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to electric vehicle maintenance and repair.
6. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality or efficiency.
7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
8. Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with customers.
9. Willingness to adapt to changing technologies and industry advancements, with a passion for sustainable transportation and electric vehicle technology.
10. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
